Introducing Finance for Freelancers
The Finance for Freelancers newsletter is for freelancers who want to learn more about personal finances.
Hi! Welcome to Finance for Freelancers.
My name is Natasha — and I’m ready to share my latest side quest with the world.
I’ve spent the last nine years of my writing career as a full-time freelancer, covering personal finance and travel.
While I spend most of my working hours creating content for my clients, one of my goals for this year is to carve out more time for my own writing projects. So here goes!
Personal finance has long been an interest of mine. My obsession with maintaining detailed budget and income spreadsheets and using credit card points and miles to travel more affordably eventually led me to getting paid to create content for brands like NerdWallet.
I don’t have a finance degree — and I’m not a financial advisor. But my professional experience has taught me a lot about important financial topics, and I’d love to share some of what I’ve learned.
I’ve been wanting to start a newsletter for a while. But first, I wanted to make sure I had a unique angle and that there was a need for what I would share with the world.
After much thought, I’ve decided to create a financial newsletter for freelancers.
Here’s why.
Many writers discuss:
How to start a freelance business
Strategies to become a more successful freelancer
Tips for finding more freelance opportunities
How to find and land higher-paying clients
These are all important topics.
But I’ve noticed there’s less discussion around financial matters for freelancers.
Money management can look very different for those who don’t work a traditional W-2 role. And your everyday business and money choices can impact your wallet.
I created Finance for Freelancers to demystify financial matters for freelancers and creatives. I aim to make it easier to navigate the financial side of freelancing.
No matter what chapter of life you’re in, or where you are in your freelance journey, you can benefit from increasing your financial knowledge. And I’m here to help.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.

great topic - excited to read!
